Children's skin is by far not so thick as the skin of an adult. Thus the risk of sun radiation penetration through the skin is much higher in children. Therefore children should be protected from the sun by creams with suitable protective factors. It is very important to protect the most exposed body parts – eyes, cheeks, nose, shoulders, back, and head (headwear). Extraordinary care needs to be given to children under the age of 5. Sunscreen preparations for sensitive children's skin (free of alcohol, preserving agents and perfume) are particularly suitable.
