| Pregnancy and lactation | Epidemiological studies conducted during pregnancy have not demonstrated harmful effects of paracetamol used in recommended doses. It is not suitable to administer it in the first trimester of pregnancy. In later months of pregnancy the administration of the drug must be considered by the doctor. Paracetamol passes into breast milk, however, in amounts that are not clinically significant. Neither paracetamol, nor its metabolites have been detected in infant's urine. Pathological changes in infants have not been observed. In a short-term treatment and simultaneous careful monitoring of an infant it is not necessary to temporary discontinue breastfeeding. |
