| minimum amount for dispatch | Gaviscon liquid peppermint mitigates the heartburn, pain in upper part of stomach or behind the thoracic bone and digestion disorders which are caused by the gastric saps returning to the gullet, midriff hernia, gullet inflammation, etc. After ingestion it reacts with the gastric acid forming a gel protection layer which floats on the stomach fill. This layer prevents the gastric saps from returning to the gullet. The relief is achieved by the gel layer keeping the acid stomach fill outside the gullet epithelium which, unlike the gastric mucous membrane, is sensitive to it. The preparation acts quickly and in a long-term. The effect lasts for at least 2.5 h. The formed gel leaves the stomach only after complete emptying. It is dissolved in the alkaline environment of duodenum and secreted in ordure without being digested. Normal doses, if not decided otherwise by the doctor: Adults and children from the age of 12: 10 - 20 ml (2 - 4 spoons) after meal and before going to bed. Children aged 6 - 12: 5 - 10 ml (1 - 2 spoons) after meal and before going to bed. Children up to 6 years of age based on a recommendation by a doctor: 5 - 10 ml (1 - 2 spoons) after meal and before going to bed. The gaviscon liquid peppermint dose can be diluted by the same (not higher) amount of water. Stir well before use. |
