| Pregnancy and lactation | If not necessary, acetylsalicylic acid must not be administered during the first and the second trimester of pregnancy. If acetylsalicylic acid is administrated to women who want to become pregnant or to women in the first and the second trimester of pregnancy, the dose must be as low as possible and the length of the treatment as short as possible. Acetylsalicylic acid in the dose of 500 mg/day and higher is contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy. The active substance passes through the placental barrier and into mother's breast milk. After occasional administration to mothers there were no adverse effects observed in infants. If it is necessary to administer high doses regularly, it is recommended to temporarily discontinue breastfeeding. |
